This remarkable facade in Art Nouveau-style was built in 1901 according to Gustave Strauven's plans.
Sylvia Van Loo: 'This fassade shows a verticalising effect that lets think of the gothicstyle. In his narrow structure we can recognize five decorative articulations that are reunified as floors . The long lines in the fassade run through the iron work and the door posts. Each floor is recognisable in its own material and colours, but still different. Most remarquable: upperfloor in circular form. Daring junction of materials such as glazing stone in the fassade, alternated with modelled nature stone, wooden posts for door and windows, worked out in specific forms, wickerwork of iron and glass.'
