This facade, designed by Hendrik Beyaert, is a mixture of is New Renaissance and New Baroque elements.

The entrance is situated under a great semi-circular arch. A graceful caryatid and a graceful atlant support the balcony at the second floor. Flat pilasters bridge the dird and fourth floor. The top of the facade is crowned with an obelisk. Although the building is not very deep, the middle spans of the upperfloor leep in. This accentuates the depth-effect.

This creation was ment to sustain the 'national'buildingstyle, where in typical, traditional elements of the Flemisch buildingart are worked in.

This facade has won the price of the townfacades in the scope of the town renewing between 1872-1876.
