Adolphe Constantin Dominique Eymael was born on July 4th 1830 in Liege. He died in 1904.

Adolphe Eymael graduated as pharmacist on the university of Liege. Later, he posessed several pharmacies and chemical factories. He made a lot of money, which allowed him to retire. He collected more than 500 valuable paintings (Breughel, Jordaens, Lombard, Ruysdael, le Tintoret, Zurbaran…)
