The walls of this corner house are dated from the 17 th century, but some remains of a house dated from the 16 th century are to be found there. This proven with the projecting window made of bricks, in late gothic style and dating from 1514. It is an example of the professional knowledge of the masons of this period. Remarquable is the fine and diversified tracery, with falchion motifs, trefoils, trilobated tracery...
Probably Herman van Houtvelde used this oriel as melting pot. He became decan of the goldsmiths.
