Just as 'Den Cruywagen', this building was owned by the family Serghuys in the 13th century. In 1444 they sold it to the guild of the carpenters or barrel makers. After the bombardment of 1695 the guilhall was rebuild under the supervision of Antoon Pastorana in a baroque stile.
